Today we're launching FortiEvents, and we wanted to take a minute to explain what it is and why we built it.
The short version
FortiEvents is an event registration tool. You create an event, share a link, and people sign up. You get a dashboard to manage attendees, and they get a confirmation email with a QR code for check-in.
That's pretty much it. And that's the point.
Why we built this
We've organized a fair number of events over the years — internal company events, local meetups, small conferences. And every time, the registration step was more complicated than it needed to be.
The big platforms are designed for massive events with complex ticketing, multi-track schedules, and sponsorship tiers. They're powerful, but they're also overwhelming when all you need is a way for 80 people to tell you they're coming to a workshop on Thursday.
We tried spreadsheets. We tried Google Forms. We tried free tiers of bigger tools. Nothing felt quite right. Google Forms works but looks generic. The big platforms have too many settings. Spreadsheets require manual follow-up emails.
So we built the thing we kept wishing existed.
What FortiEvents does
- Event pages. Each event gets its own page with the details and a registration form. Clean, mobile-friendly, loads fast.
- Custom registration forms. Name and email by default, plus whatever custom fields you need. No more, no less.
- Confirmation emails. Automatic. Includes event details and a QR code for day-of check-in.
- Attendee dashboard. See who signed up, when they signed up, and export the list anytime.
- QR check-in. Open the check-in view on your phone, scan attendees' QR codes, done. No app to install, no extra hardware.
What FortiEvents doesn't do
We're not trying to be everything. FortiEvents doesn't handle paid ticketing (yet), doesn't have a built-in event app, and doesn't offer complex multi-session scheduling. If you need those things, there are great tools for that.
What we do is handle registration — clearly, simply, and well. For a lot of events, that's the only tool you need.
Pricing
There are two plans. Free gives you unlimited events with up to 50 attendees each. Pro is $12/month and removes the attendee limit, adds analytics, custom branding, and priority support.
No per-ticket fees. No percentage cuts. No surprise charges.
What's next
We're starting focused. Registration, attendee management, and check-in. Over time we'll add features based on what organizers actually ask for — not based on what looks good on a comparison chart.
